  1. This book makes you feel like you ll eventually get to somewhere important But you never do The story, like so many well reviewed books these days, has no point There s no heart or moral It drifts, as though the author themself lost interest while writing it You wait and wait to find out why the various characters lives are connected You wait for that point in stories like these where the individual stories merge into a satisfying ah ha moment where you finally put the pieces together and unders [...]

  2. This is the most disjointed piece of junk I have ever read This author s constant need to jump back to the early days of Arthur s life is tiresome and of very little value to the whole story unless you just want to know about the life of this person who died in the first chapter There are places in the story that are poorly developed or not developed at all We meet the BAD guy half way through the book and then he shows up near the end of the book and a kid we ve never met before simply kills hi [...]

  3. One cold night in Toronto, in the middle of a presentation of King Lear, Arthur Leandro dies on stage Jeevan Chaudhary, a member of the audience and a paramedic, attempts to save his life He meets Kirsten Raymonde, an eight year old cast member What none of them know is that this is the night that the Georgian Flu begins its death march across the human world In two weeks, most the human race will be dead Eventually 99.9% of the human race will be gone and the old civilization will be over. The s [...]

  4. You know a book is a slog when you d rather do anything else other than reading it I really wanted to like it, after so many great reviews, but the best part about it was finishing it, and moving on to another book.Station Eleven starts like any post apocalyptic book, with the obligatory deadly flu that empties the earth So far so good But no, it keeps jumping back to the pre flu world, following this insipid and unsufferable movie star and his interminable collection of wives soon to be ex wive [...]

  5. It all begins an evening in Toronto A man goes to see King Lear with his girlfriend A famous actor plays Lear but during the madness scene he collapses on stage The man, who has medical training rushes to the stage to help but the famous actor dies He goes out of the theatre It s night, everyone is gone, his girlfriend didn t wait for him He starts walking back home when he receives a call on his mobile from one of his friend who works in a hospital He tells him to stock on food and to lock hims [...]

  6. As you can see there are a number of lower starred reviews on this site, and there is probably a good reason for this It seems that people expected to read a post apocalyptic novel, and that is it, but although of course although this story does fall into that category, there is a lot to it, meaning that this is of a genre crossing tale.We have the years after the singular event that causes the post apocalyptic dystopia that we read of, but we also have before then and not only the events that l [...]
