  1. The Suzuki philosophy as far as I can see needs consistent immersions and guidance from a teacher and an involved parents guardian for it to work It s different from the rote classical training from my childhood There is nothing wrong with this and my child is thriving in the program The Suzuki method itself is really wonderful and organic However this product will not help a self guided learner and this really requires the CD to constantly hear how the pieces are played, like how you d hear for [...]

  2. This is not a piano lesson book for beginner There is no picture showing what the piano keys are It assumes that the student already knows piano to start playing the simple songs in this book There are less than 18 songs, not worth the money for pianist student with 1 yrs of practice.I do not recommend this book at all.

  3. My children s piano teacher insisted they use these books It s different from how I learned to play but, I m no teacher so I trusted them Fast forward 3 years and my children now hate piano and still couldn t sight read anything I found I had to write the names of the notes down and they were forced to memorize everything We all dreaded piano lesson day.The Pandemic of 2020 comes and I decided to fire the piano teacher, buy Alfred s basic piano library, as that s what I learned to love piano aft [...]

  4. I think this is good for 5 year olds who aspire to be professional pianist in the futurer adult learner, just not what I neededyou really need a piano teacher to practice this book with to build professional technique that is supposed to take a whole year 3 hours a day to practice on this technique book.

  5. As a beginner with only several months of lessons, I am very happy, and challenged, by the music in this book It s nice to have proven music to play sometimes a book provides what I call not disparagingly kid books Some of these pieces are not too demanding, some are very demanding Challenge, of course, is fine in any endeavour, and this book provides it I m nearing the end and already have the 2d and 3rd books ready to go Playing the CD when first having the books was quite intimidating I knew [...]

  6. The description clearly said it came with a CD yet when it arrived NO CD I could have gotten just the book for half the price but I really wanted the CD Very disappointed

  7. I have a daughter in book 5, son in book 3, and daughter finishing book 2 If you have a real Suzuki teacher, your kids will amaze you They are excellent musicians, and my older two are now reading everything they can play So you don t have to just learn to pay by ear with Suzuki I wish I had learned this method maybe I d still be playing It s so freeing to be able to hear a piece and be able to play it If I didn t have music I was stuck My kids LOVE to play.

  8. I bought the first three volumes of the Suzuki Piano School thinking they would have teaching material rather than just sheet music I was wrong These books are designed to be used with the assistance of a Suzuki teacher and not as stand alone teach yourself books The music is interesting to play and is useful as practice material but for the price there is not much of it.If you are using a Suzuki teacher then I am sure these books are ideal, but if, like me, you are learning from tutorial books [...]

  9. This is not a teach yourself suzuki piano book It has the music sheets to be used with a suzuki teacher This is what we are doing The CD is brilliant It helps to play it to your children frequently so they understand what the music sounds like.
