  1. Very short read with minimal plot with little character development It seemed like it was a young adult version of a war story Incredibly, a USN Ensign on his first combat assignment bags 7 Japanese fighters before he is wounded and sent off to recover All of the characters are stereotypes right out of a 40 s B movie I couldn t help envisioning Ens Dave Watson being played by Mickey Rooney Modestly entertaining but not a serious WW2 saga.

  2. This is not a novel It s like a short novella The story in my opinion was meh The first book in this series was much better although it was also far too short to be designated a novel I won t be purchasing anything else in this series.

  3. I not have read all three books although not in the right order Our hero Ltd David Watson of the U.S Navy is sent to England to test the British naval aircraft and he tells in great a t detail about every aircraft he flew Also the story continues about the Navy nurse Rachel.

  4. I was disappointed with this book, as I was with the first in the series It could have been great, but it was not even a short story, let alone a novel The writing was good, the few aerial combat scenes were well done, but there was no flesh on the bones The author could have done so much within the story line, describing the hero s recovery and rehabilitation, the conflict between Rachel and the supervising doctor, life in England, and the character of the other characters, The platonic, virgin [...]

  5. This is a booklet, not a book Like PT Barnam of old, this author has left me wanting The last two books of this short series could have should have been combined into one short book.On the plus side, these stories seem well researched and have compelling characters They just need meat.

  6. I had read the second book in this series first so this answered my questions that I had Even having read the second book first this was a really good book to read.

  7. Another great Book in the Series It was hard to put down and I have already downloaded Book 3 I found it hard to put down.

  8. Good yarn, but a bit short, looking forward to the next one I hope it s a bit longer for the price

  9. Very little about aircraft, of a girly love story. The little that is mentioned about the Mosquito is very poor, suited to comic of years gone by.

  10. Didn t realize it was fictional so therefore very disappointed, very short hardly worth bother at least real UK aerodromes were used.
