  1. The problem with initiated people writing about Orisas is that whatever they think they know is just a guess Let s start with the concept of 7 African powers This is not an Orisa concept Seven African Powers are 7 groups of African ethnic groups that came to the Diaspora, not Orisa There are 401 Orisanot 7 This is basic info for an initiated priest but obviously there are people who just want to make money off of knowling very little. This is the problem with Wiccans trying to capitalize off of a [...]

  2. This is an extremely easy read The author does a great job of breaking down the 7 Orishas and their meaning It was explained in the simplest of terms which is great for someone like me I will take what lI earned from this book and continue to expand on that This is good for anyone who is new to the Orishas and the study s of the Yoruba religious tradition The spells and prayers were a plus. Some grammatical errors, but easy to over look.

  3. This is a small but informative book It s getting 3 starts because the book has some spells listed but no directions on how to make the ingredients included How can I add Yoruba open path oil to my spell when I don t know how to make it

  4. Very difficult to follow as you have to make edits to the author s grammar throughout Information is not very consistent In one chapter Yemaya is regarded as Oshuns mother In the very next chapter 1 page aparther sister I understand there is tales of both but it would be nice to see the author hold firm to their belief of the relationship The actual reading material is 30 pages before it goes into spells, recipes and such Information is very basic Mostly feast days, colors, numbers, offerings an [...]

  5. It s good for basic information It seem like the author just google then copy and paste what she find There was little to no proof reading and some sentences and paragraphs were either just poorly rewritten to say the same thing that was just stated or they were just completely repeated Also some statements just contradicts its self It seem like the author has is not an expert on on the topic It seem a lot of her books are like this very short and bare minimum information I got this book before [...]

  6. I want to return this item but my partner won t let me because it was delayed twice I wish I could simply review the content but from the photos you can see that the book is completely falling a part and the lines are slanted on the page So bad print and binding I don t know if the author is aware but this is awful.

  7. This book was very informative and easy to read I m a beginner and I am looking forward to putting forth the knowledge I gained through reading this book I know that I connect most with the Orisha Yemaya, however, when I ve gone to the beach with offerings i never called on Papa Legba first This could be the state of disillusion and confusion that I ve been in, which this book explained Great read with very minimal errors.

  8. This book offers the basic information into getting acquainted with the Seven African Orishas Before reading this book my knowledge of the loas were of only two Now I can add five to my list of Orishas Ase I am grateful that this author made the content easy to read and I recommended it to other spiritual seekers.

  9. This was my first book on African Orisha s I needed to really solidify what I thought I knew, this book helped me to gain a much better understanding I even now have an idea of who my deity is to honour, I ve been looking around for a female Goddess that called to me, I had trouble relating to many from other cultures Anyway, this book is highly recommended by me as a starting point for anyone who wants to understand better their African roots, culture and spiritualism I would say this is just t [...]
