  1. Chris Green s new book is theology at its best devotional, meaningful, and challenging This is not a sentimental presentation in which belief in God can be reduced to child like faith Chris presentation is like struggling with God He s trying to make sense of faith in God in a world tormented by evil This is serious stuff.Reading this book is like reading the biblical book of Job Chris presents God as one who must be feared, who is beyond understanding, but capable of being known Even so, our kn [...]

  2. Friends, this book is so, so beautiful Green s work has been used by GOD for me time and again, expanding my imagination, speaking to my fears and insecurities and dreams With words apt than I ve ever encountered, this book asks and dances with some of the realest of questions, and without pretense I sense a wisdom in Green that indeed leads me to admire him, but every time it so leads me to deep feeling and awareness of GOD and people In the scope of my reading to date admittedly not terribly e [...]

  3. This book moved me in deep and meaningful ways It reads as 12 theological meditations on how we perceive and think about God In the process, Dr Green has shown me deeper wells to drink from.I ve intentionally read this books slowly as opposed to my habit of devouring short books like this because each chapter is like a spiritual speed bump, necessitating my slowing down for contemplation and meditation on the writing I am extremely grateful for this.I intend on keeping this book in my backpack a [...]

  4. This will be one of my forever favorite books It is small but packed full of challenging insight that challenged me and my long held beliefs some of which I did not know I had of God This provided me real, deep hope which is what is needed today We don t take the time to contemplate God and to understand Him as He is and when we do, it is life changing Chris Green has been one of my favorite teaching pastors and now he is one of my favorite writers.

  5. Very interesting It challenges with provocative expressions and descriptions of God s love and our life in Him I want to push back on several fronts, but the challenge itself is good.

  6. Profound, life altering truth Readable, relatable, not academic but also not pop Christian goop Chris Green s writing and theology is elegant, deep, creative He has a word that we need to hear right now.
